TIP / IDEA SEWING ON PAPER

There is a very talented man that lives above my store and he came in today asking for mulberry paper. He wanted to sew on it. Well about an hour later he brought in this card he made! Isn't this amazing? He has a machine that does embroidery patterns. Oh I would love to play with that. :)

Bottle trees are the "in" thing this year as it is great yard art and you can recycle! Keith from over at J's awesome restaurant finally brought me over enough bottles to fill mine this morning. I love it! We also sell other yard art and will be having a back alley yard decor section at the store soon.

LICENSE PLATE PAPER

I had a customer in yesterday that I know reads the blog but I did not take her name and number who was looking for license plate paper to make into bracelets and every one I found was too big. Well last night I found these two and thought they may work. I hope she reads this! :) (You all know I love to hunt for things) LOL

Who am I and why would you want to take my class? I’ve been decorating cakes since 2007. That also happens to be the year I got my first Cricut. I’ve been trained in depth by Linda McClure, the creator this awesome technique. She also trained Carrie Biggers (as seen on the HSN debut of the Cricut Cake), Jennifer Atwood, and Two Sweet Southern Ladies (all of whom have appeared on TLC’s Ultimate Cake Off while using the Cricut Expressions on their cakes!). I’ve also been using my Cricut to decorate cakes since early 2009 (the idea was born at my dining room table as my mother, Linda, played around with my Baby Bug and some gum paste as she visited after the birth of my third child…she promised me a new Cricut if she broke my machine LOL) and I have found it has transformed my work!

If you don’t have a Cricut Cake but still want to take the class, please do! All you need is a deep cut blade and a mat dedicated to cutting gum paste, and you too can make these beautiful cakes with your Cricut, or any electronic cutter!

THE DOGS

The dogs just crack me up. They love stuffed animals and play tug of war with them until they get to the stuffing and then pull out all the stuffing. LOL I guess they are cheap dog toys as I buy them at garage sales or Goodwill. :)
