THE CHICK MARKET

I have been flooded with emails wanting more information on the chick market now that we are officially "chicks". So today I went in and took pictures of some of the store. It is a huge place as they just doubled in size. They have something for everyone! It is in the strip mall on 180th and Pacific. Check it out! I will be working Sunday so stop by and say hi!

I LOVE SPRAY PAINT!!!

Go green and recycle what you have with spray paint. Spray paint is so much better than it was years ago. There is also spray paint with glitter added which I just love. hee hee. Here are some of my chick market and thrift shop finds I got out today to paint.

Gump our goat thought I was out to play with him when I was painting and kept trying to head butt what I was painting and got pink paint on his ear.lol

Got this at the chick market and going to add jars of ribbon, buttons, flowers etc.

ALTERING A DOLL HOUSE

Stop by Precious Treasures Scrapbook Store to find all kinds of treasures. We have drawers and drawers of embellishments sold by the piece. I had this big wooden doll house and Ruth had outgrown it so I am altering it to use as a book shelf in my craft room. Look around your house or thrift stores for items you can alter. This is "going green". :) Help save the planet!

This is a work in progress. I am trying to cover the roof with all kinds of little items. I just foun all the black letters today and put everyone in the families name on the roof. Look, someone gave me a goat beanie baby. We do still have our pet goat "Gump" and just love him. He has quite the personality.

A note on the Gypsy

I am very critical on products as you all know...the Gypsy....has my stamp of approval. I love it, stop by and I will demo it for you. A NEW TOY!!!!!

VERONICA VISITS THE GYPSY

Hi Veronica, the Cricut Instructor here ~ Many of you have been asking me if I have a Gypsy yet and what I think of it. Well, no I don't have one, but I got to use it today and so far, I think it is really cool.
For those of you who have NO IDEA what I am talking about, the Gypsy is a new tool for the Cricut machine that allows you to work on projects pretty much anywhere, then take it back to your Cricut machine and cut away! Imagine something that looks like a Palm Pilot but acts like the Cricut Design Studio -- computer software that lets you design personalized die cuts, titles and even word books.
It still works with Cricut artridges, except now you load all your cartridges onto the Gypsy first. And you can only actually cut with the cartridges you own -- but you can design with all the cartridges which is a great way to see which cartridges you actually want to buy.
Anyway, I still think it is an expensive toy at between $249 and $299. But I imagine it will come down in price eventually. But the possibilities are immense, and since it isn't computer based you aren't hindered by a slow computer like mine.
Here are two things that I whipped together this morning:

This Santa was made with the Jumbo letters from Lyrical Letters merged with a Santa hat from Joys of the Season. One of the best benefits of the Design Studio or the Gypsy is being able to weld letters together and one them as one piece.

This is a recipe divider from From My Kitchen with the meat category welded on top. I am looking forward to playing with that cartridge some more, too.
Amy has a Gypsy at the store and she has already loaded all her cartridges onto it. So we can demonstrate what it can do. She can order them, too. And yes, I am contimplating designing a class on the Gypsy sometime soon.
I hope to get to play with the Gypsy more this weekend, so look for more pictures soon! ~ Veronica Rosman

WORKING ON MY CROP ROOM......

I took today off as I had an ultra sound this morning and was full of energy today so I thought I better take advantage of it. I am making a new craft room in my lower level. I worked all day on my craft room and made a good dent in it. Still a looooooong way to go.
Stay tuned for more photo's.
I still have ALL this left to do. My sewing desk is clean so it is a start! I love the Making Memories cabinet to fit all my paints. The other white cabinet was a Goodwill find and works great for ribbons.
I collect pull toys as they always make me smile!

Got all my idea books and magazines organized in these awesome baskets from Pier One. Both cabinets are from the Chick Market as well as the cute little suitcase. Photo boxes from Precious Treasures :) I plan on painting both cabinets the same color "if" I keep it there. I am still putting stuff away from the move so things will keep changing.

Love the poster of Liz. This is a rolling cart and I put all my bigger tools underneath as well as my cutting system. The TV tray has to go, just need to find something better for an embossing station. ( I LOVE to heat emboss) Hopefully will be adding a Cricut! I am saving up for the new pink one. Stay tuned.......
