BUSY WEEKEND

I have had about 30 emails from people, yes, I am ok. We just had a very busy weekend!

Saturday: Scrap Pink was Saturday and had a lot of fun. A few of us just spent a lot of time organizing which I was one of them organizing for next weekends crop at Camp Kitaki Tawnya had to leave at 7:00 to go to a Romance Party at her neighbors. She asked if anyone wanted to go and to our surprise all but two ended up going. So we carpooled and I had never been to one of those parties and lets just say it was VERY interesting. LOL After we all came back and scrapbooked. The person that had the party had cats and I am highly allergic so when we got back I went home as I was feeling terrible and Veronica closed out the crop at ??? I am not sure what time they finished up.

Sunday: We had out HUGE garage sale. The weather was wonderful and we got rid of so much stuff. I used to be a pack rat and a few years ago I helped my pastors wife clean her house and she has so much stuff that it made a big change in me that I just want to get rid of everything. So I have been cleaning out the attic and storage room. I even got rid of about 15 purses which for me is VERY hard. I have a ways to go but I made a huge dent in it and what was left from the sale got donated.

Monday: My kids did not have school so we went to the zoo in the morning and left there about 7:15 that night. It is amazing to go to the zoo after it closes at 5:00 as there is hardly anyone there and the animals are hungry! The lions and tigers were all roaring and Zach thought that was pretty cool. We could not have had a better day for weather. Trev took the bus over to the zoo after work and he got to walk around with us also for a couple hours. After we went to Spaghetti works as I had a buy one get one free coupon. But when we went to pay I gave her the coupon she said they could not take it on Mondays as kids eat free that day. Zach piped up and said "We can eat here every Monday!". I had no idea they did that there and we may eat there more and all of us at for under $20 and I cannot even cook for that.

Tuesday: Went to Walgreens before work and dropped off my pictures from the zoo all 373 of them! I took my good camera and lenses and got some great shots. I will share some with you when I get them back. Walgreens has prints for only 10 cents a print this week!

A VISIT FROM ANNE

My friend Anne showed up at the store today. What a nice surprise. She missed girls night last night as she had to attend her husband work function. Those darn husbands! hee hee

She always has a project going. She is working on acrylic tags for a swap and needed to cut a bunch out and was looking for ideas for her grandson's birthday. I told her about the ABC books I made for my kids with things like "A is for Aunt Trudy" and a photo of trudy and then I put used up lots of stickers with things starting with each letter on the pages. My kids loved to look at them and still do. Anne bought the the HARD plastic sleeves to make books out of and I have made several for toddlers as they can chew the heck out of them and not hurt them. LOL I have one on display at the store.

GIRLS NIGHT (pics)

There is nothing better than a night with all of your girlfriends. I think one of God's greatest blessings is friends. I cannot imagine life without them. We ended up with 9 of us that came to the Chick Market. We loved looking at all the new Christmas things. It got me in the mood for the holidays. The girls do such a good job of displaying everything and have the most wonderful items for sale. My friend Jana who is doing a whole scrapbook line for the store I told you about was working tonight and she said it is almost ready. I am so excited to see it all. She leaves for vacation Monday for a week and should have it set up at the store the first week in October.

While waiting I went outside and met John Hoich. He owns owns the strip mall where Chick Market is and he was trying to talk to me about moving to a bay next to Chick Market and even offered to put slat wall up on the whole thing. He was telling me about all the places he owns and all he has done and I was very impressed and he is a very interesting guy.

Karen and Lexie came to Chick Market but could not join us for dinner. Then the rest of us, Rosemary, Kaylee, Tawnya, Liz, Betty, Jackie and I all went to Hectors after a couple HOURS of the Chick Market. We got our margaritas and had lots of wonderful conversation!

Aother friend has all this cute little girls things. Her hair bows are the best I have ever seen as the bands on them are so comfotable. Above see the cute towel that goes over your little princess' head,

Christmas decorations.

Adorable Halloween Decorations

There was wonderful wine, cheese all kinds of dips and soups etc to sample.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A SCRAPBOOKER IF....

You spend more on scrapbooking supplies per month than you do on groceries. After all, they can wait for supper - you are busy with you best layout - like, ever!!!

NO TIME TO SCRAPBOOK OR DO NOT KNOW WHERE TO START (read)

Many people say, sure I’d love to scrapbook if I had nothing to do all day but cut and paste things. The real waste of time is not creating a scrapbook, but rather taking pictures, dropping them off at the store, picking them up, putting them in a box, and then wasting numerous hours trying to find a specific picture months later. Why take pictures if you’re just going to coral them in the closet like cattle? Making a scrapbook is about preserving memories for future generations. With scrapbooks, people organize their pictures, souvenirs and mementos into themes and create mini-histories using safe materials to ensure the photos will last ages. Simply put, scrapbooks are more than fun times with friends, or that fulfilling feeling you get when you create something. Scrapbooks are is also an investment in your family and future generations.

Find Time to Scrapbook

Alright, so how do you make time? Don’t think you have to belt out a scrapbook in one sitting. Most people are short on time with a tall list of things to do, so their goal is to create a page here and there which will eventually complete a themed album. Like with anything else you want to accomplish, you must schedule time and break your project into little steps. You can sort through photos while the kids nap or are out to play. Think up themes and come up with design ideas when you are out and about and bombarded with color combinations. If you have a small child or children you may find it difficult to schedule time to breathe, let alone scrapbook, but there is always time, even if all you can spare is fifteen minutes here or ten minutes there, at least you can get a little done, like sorting pictures or placing one on a page. Once you have experienced the rewards from scrapbooks, you’ll find that time for it magically appears.

NEW JUKE BOX FOR THE STORE

We added a juke box to the store. Hannah loaded the music on it tonight and it is all set to go. It is a lot of fun! There are even bubbles that move through the light around it once it heats up. It reminds me of the old bubble lights on the Christmas tree ornaments. I cannot wait to get to work to play with it. :)

PARKING IN BACK FOR CROPS AND CLASSES

Hannah showed up at work today with 6 cans of spray paint as I decided to paint all the pipes and concrete block by the NEW back door as it was so ugly back there. People can start parking out back to crop and it will be easy to unload starting at this weekends crops.

NOTE: You should spray paint in a well ventilated area, not inside. I think I have been inhaling too many paint fumes. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.................... Tawnya came by tonight to help me fill goody bags and she walks in and says, "do you know your lips are black?" I had black paint even in m hair. LOL

CROP ROOM ADDITION zutter bind it all

We use all of the funds from the crop room for buying more tools for you to use while you are here. This month we added a bind it all machine. We sell the wires individually and in packages for it. Make books for Christmas gifts quickly and they look professional.

MY FIRST IPOD

Well I broke down and got an ipod but I have no idea how to work it. LOL It came in the mail from Apple today and I did not even find time to get time to get it opened today at work. I am going to have Hannah come work tomorrow night and pay her to figure it out and put music on it. I am so not into electronics. I made it clear through the VCR age without even learning to record anything.

Check it out, of course it HAD to be pink!

MORE NEW IN TODAY Coca-Cola products and ink pads

Someone asked for Coke Embellishments and I ordered 7 different things. They all came in today.

Also from Ranger we got in all the inks pads we already ran out of colors. I love Ranger products as they all coordinate from paint dabbers, embossing powders, ink pads and more. I keep telling them they just need the papers now to match. :)

CHEAP PHOTO PRINTING

I did not tell you about this until I got my order as it seemed too good to be true. I ordered all the free stuff including playing cards, photos, calendars etc. It was all free but shipping was $71.00. I got a ton of stuff though.

Now I just went in and did another order and when I took off all the non-print stuff (like watches, calendars etc) shipping was a LOT less. I got $126.00 worth of prints for free and shipping cost me only $28.00. Most of the order was enlargements. On this order I just placed I had 50- 4*6 photos, 50- 5*7 photos, 10- 8*10's and 10- 12*18's all for free and shipping was only $28.00.

P.T. Rating

Ship Time: Excellent as they come clear from Hong Kong
Packaging: Excellent as the enlargements all come in tubes. Stop by the store and I can show you the first things I received.

New Cricut Classes Added to Calendar

Veronica, again! My Cricut classes have very popular, so I've added another Thursday night class in October, on the 9th, and put dates for November on the calendar, too.

And after some discussion with my students and Amy, I've also designed some more advanced Cricut classes and put them on the calendar for November. I am going to do a "Christmas with Cricut" class, which will show you how to use your Cricut to make very unique Christmas cards. Not only will we cut designs and words to put on cards, I'll also show you how to cut cards and coordinating envelopes.

Please note that this is a class for those who are fairly experienced with their machines. And please see the calendar for dates and information on what to bring!

Hope to see you there!

P.S. I also plan to do Cricut classes that focus on creating Disney characters in December or January.

~Veronica

Crazy for Apples (pics)

Hi, Veronica here! I just had to share about the amazing weekend the kids and I had going down to the Applejack Festival in Nebraska City. The weather was gorgeous, the orchards had a bumper crop of apples and my kids had a absolute blast! We went to Pumpkin Ridge Farms and then to the Arbor Day Farm Tree Adventure, ending with a visit to the Arbor Farms' U-Pick apple orchard. If you ever get a chance to go, it is well worth the drive! Enjoy my pictures! ~ Veronica

That's my daughter, Mackenzie, in the doggie hat.

And this is my daughter, Mackenzie, doing her favorite thing -- climbing trees like a monkey!

Mackenzie finally finds an apple she thinks looks good enough to eat!

It's a good thing she likes sour stuff!

"See mom, I ate the skin and all!"

This is my son, Bob. I think this was the first time he's ever eaten an apple that wasn't peeled and cut up for him.

THANK YOU JEN!!!

Jen is a customer and friend who has a business selling purses and adorable girls items. She even has a space at the Chick Market (my favorite store) http://harborfarmchickmarket.com/
Their prices on handbags etc are the best around. She is the one who sells those train cases I showed you that perfectly fit the CTMH stamp envelopes which you can buy seperately to organize your non CTMA stamps also. (And look cute to boot!)

I was at Jens house today and awhile back I had told her about the wallet Tawnya got me for birthdays with red zebra print and she surprised me as she got in the matching purse and gave it to me for a gift today! What a sweetie! Now I just need Husker tickets to go show it off.

ALL DIVA'S PLEASE READ, IT MAY SAVE YOUR LIFE

I was just sent this and checked it out and *77 is correct and could save your life/

I knew about the red light on cars, but not the *77 It was about 1:00 p.m. in the afternoon, and Lauren was driving to visit a friend. An UNMARKED police car pulled up behind her and put his lights on. Lauren's parents have always told her never to pull over for an unmarked car on the side of the road, but rather to wait until they get to a gas station, etc.. Lauren had actually listened to her parents advice, and promptly called *77 on her cell phone to tell the police dispatcher that she would not pull over right away. She proceeded to tell the dispatcher that there was an unmarked police car with a flashing red light on his rooftop behind her. The dispatcher checked to see if there were police cars where she was and there weren't, and he told her to keep driving, remain calm and that he had back up already on the way. Ten minutes later 4 cop cars surrounded her and the unmarked car behind her. One policeman went to her side and the others surrounded the car behind. They pulled the guy from the car and tackled him to the ground. The man was a convicted rapist and wanted for other crimes. I never knew about the *77 Cell Phone Feature, but especially for a woman alone in a car, you should not pull over for an unmarked car. Apparently police have to respect your right to keep going to a safe place. *Speaking to a service representative at ** Bell ** Mobility confirmed that *77 was a direct link to State trooper info. So, now it's your turn to let your friends know about *77. Send this to every woman (and person) you know; it may save a life. This applies to ALL 50 states.

THE BIG ONE! (pics)

I do a garage sale about every three years and it is exhausting! From the pictures you will see why. I have HUGE sales. With 4 growing kids there is always a lot of clothes and we do a buck each so they sell fast. It was such a beautiful day today. I am having it tomorrow also. Then I will be so relieved to get back to work. Paul sleeps days so I am sure he will love having a quiet house again too. I will be putting more stuff out tomorrow as I am in the mood to purge. We are hoping to earn enough to get carpet in the dining room since the gallon of dark green paint spilled on it. :(

THE BIG ONE
Paul is used to sleeping days and here we caught him asleep on the sectional we had in the garage sale.

Zacheus having fun with a wig in the sale.

ummm.. who is that guy?

We had a nice sectional with two chairs and a lady who did not have a couch nor had much money we just said she could have it. Paul and Kaela even delivered it to her. (we are a family of softies)

CHICK MARKET FINDS AND ORGANIZING TIP FOR ACRYLIC STAMPS (pics)

Here are all my finds from the Chick Market last night. I love to stamp and I have several CTMH stamp set but what I love from them is their clear snap envelopes. These are the ones their stamps come in. They sell them empty and I use them to organize all my acrylic stamps from other companies. If you look below at the train cases, I found that these fit the envelopes perfectly and are adorable too. They have all different colors at the Chick Market. (180th pacific) The smaller train cases they sell fit 4x6 photos.

So "DIVA" salt and peppers (in the store window now), little photo holders that are purses and a couple basket tie ons. The calendars we sell here at the store and are from Jenni Bowlin.
Bought two hat stands that are velvet covered.

he
The ladder I had to have as it was PINK! There is another one at the store that is taller. They are great at home for towel racks. The white shelf behind it was a garage sale find on the way to work this morning. Only $7.50! I should not be going to garage sales as Iam having one at my house this Sunday. It will be HUGE!

These fit the CTMH stamp envelopes perfectly.
Yes, they do have other colors than pink and black. LOL
I actually have to go get two more as I did not have enough room.
I think I have too many stamps? nah..
There is one of the hat stands peeking around the corner.

Cute displays for the store. Love the bust as I put Teresa Collins bling rings in it and tied a cute pink ribbon around the waist. Stop by the store to see it.
(Bling rings are all the rage as you decorate them yourself)

BLUEBERRY GRANOLA PANCAKES

I could not sleep last night at all. I was up for infomercials. So I got up and made pancakes this morning. Fresh blueberries are so good right now. I put granola and blueberries in them and they are so delicious. I am suppose to be dieting but I ate only one of them, I could not resist. :)

NEW DIGI SCRAPPIN ON DVD! (for you visual learners)

We have sold hundreds of the Digi -Scrappin books since they came out as it is the BEST way to learn photoshop. Even if you do not want to digitally scrapbook and just take digital photos this book is a MUST HAVE! Some community colleges are even using it for their class book.

Now they have come up with a DVD of it!! How cool is that? We just got them in today. Amanda Dykan the author is an excellent teacher as my husband and I both have taken many of her classes at trade shows and conventions. She makes it easy for anyone to learn photoshop. and learn all it can do without getting overwhelmed as she teaches it in steps. She has three books in the series now and I have liked them as once I get the first book down then I practice with all of that and move on to the next book. If I can learn it anyone can!

WARM CARAMEL CORN mmm.....

My friend Betty brought this too me last night just because. She is such a sweetheart! It smells soooooo... goooood! It just smells like fall. I love to burn candles and I have a tray in my living room on the coffee table that has about 25 candles and I light them all at once and turn the lights off and it is so relaxing. There is just something about candlelight.

THANK YOU MISS BETTY!!!! *HUGZ*

TERESA COLLINS CONTEST

Teresa Collins is having a contest for the best display for her retailers that carry all of her line. If we win she will come teach classes free of charge for a day. We could also win a huge gift certificate or a ton of products which we will split with everyone who helps. So.... If you are creative and want to take part call me or email me. We need to come up with something spectacular! My friend Ti in Sioux City dreamed about it last night. I sure wish she lived closer as she is so creative. I need someone who can cut wood as I am not a tool person. When we put our addition on our house I tried to help and shot a nail from a nail gin through my finger. So unless it is unscrewing post from a scrapbook or using a cropadile I do not do tools. LOL

I am going to the Chick Market after work today with a friend and I am going to see what I can find there too for diplays.

DIVA PLAYED BUNKO TONIGHT AT THE STORE (pic)

Diva loved all the attention tonight when we were playing bunko at the store. I think she loved all the food also. If you are interested in being on our sub list email ptdiva@ptdiva.com and put "bunko" as the subject. We may start a second bunko group to meet at the store if we get enough people. Our first group is full.

It is so good to see Diva feeling better. The pain medications help a lot.

BLONDES CAN COOK!! ( a funny)

I can post this joke as I am a blonde and trust me I have lots of blonde moments. :)

It's fun to cook for Tom. Today I made angel food cake. The recipe said beat 12 eggs separately. The neighbors were nice enough to loan me some extra bowls.

MONDAY: Tom wanted fruit salad for supper. The recipe said serve without dressing. So I didn't dress. What a surprise when Tom brought a friend home for supper

TUESDAY: A good day for rice. The recipe said wash thoroughly before steaming the rice. It seemed kind of silly but I took a bath anyway. I can't say it improved the rice any.

WEDNESDAY: Today Tom asked for salad again I tried a new recipe. It said prepare ingredients; lay on a bed of lettuce one hour before serving. Tom asked me why I was rolling around in the garden..

THURSDAY: I found an easy recipe for cookies. It said put the ingredients in a bowl and beat it. There must have been something wrong with this recipe. When I got back, everything was the same as when I left.

FRIDAY: Tom did the shopping today and brought home a chicken. He asked me to dress it for Sunday. I don't have any clothes that fit it, and for some reason Tom keeps counting to ten.

SATURDAY: Tom's folks came to dinner. I wanted to serve roast but all I had was hamburger. Suddenly I had a flash of genius.. I put the hamburger in the oven and set the controls for roast. It still came out hamburger, much to my disappointment.

GOOD NIGHT DEAR DIARY. This has been a very exciting week! I am eager for tomorrow to come so I can try out a new recipe on Tom. If I can talk Tom into buying a bigger oven, I would like to surprise him with a chocolate moose.

MONDAYS ADVENTURE

Monday the kids were off school. I took them out to the Wildlife Safari and we had so much fun. We decided to hike it and got off the trails and a little lost. I found out the GPS on my blackberry phone works. :) I brought my good camera and took pictures all day only to find when I went to download them the camera card was not in there. I was just sick. I guess we will have to go back.

After we were through we headed out to Camp Kitaki to measure as we have had so many more people wanting to go to Scrap Pink. They opened another room to us so we can set up the Cricuts and all the tools in that room so we are able to get more people in to crop. We are down to only three more openings after I emailed everyone on the waiting list. If you are interested do not wait as it will go out in the email blast tomorrow. It is so beautiful at the camp and there is a HUGE Adirondack red chair there that we are hoping will fit our whole group for the group picture. (I am planning scrapbook pages already) LOL We are cropping from 5 on Friday to 5 on Sunday and the cost is only $100.00 which includes lodging and meals. Any profits will be going to breast cancer research.

When we were through there I went out to Bakers Candy to pick up my order only to find they closed at 4:30 and it was only 4:35. The kids were bummed as they had never been out there. So on the way back we drove through Ashland. I have so many great customers from there
I thought we would drive to the town. It was AWESOME!! I cannot wait to go back when all the cute little shops are open. We did a lot of window shopping and went to the variety store which was open. It was like stepping back in time as the store had a little bit of everything. After we went to a pizza shop in the old downtown and had dinner. It was delicious and Zacheus was more thrilled with their mechanical trash cans. LOL It had a sensor on it so as soon as you got near it, it would open. (he is all boy)

QUITE A DAY diva sick (pic)

Diva has been sick since Friday and we have not known what was wrong with her. She was not eating or drinking and if she was sleeping she would just yelp sometimes and if you picked her up sometimes she would yelp in pain. I had felt all over her to try to see if bones hurt or her tummy hurt and could not find a certain spot that would hurt her. Rosemary knows a lot about dogs and thought Diva may have a blockage so needless to say I was worried sick as she said they could die from it. I even snuck Diva into church Sunday as I just could not leave her alone and she yelped in the middle of church. Needless to say I headed for the door. LOL I could not get a hold of our vet on Sunday and I was worried sick. I was at the vet as soon as they opened this morning.

After lots of blood tests and x-rays we found out she has a back injury. She is our little dare devil that jumps off the bed and Daisy will not jump. So needless to say we are getting steps for our bed. She go a prescription to help the inflamation and we check her again in a week. I am so relieved she is ok. I sure love that dog.

PINK DOOR

My GREAT friend Tawnya said she would help me next weekend paint the walls etc by the back door. I painted the door today, of course it HAD to be pink! We are hoping to have it all done in time for Scrap Pink so people can pull right up to the back door and unload their stuff which will be so nice!

A new back door is not a big deal to some people but in my life it is HUGE as we have over 20 trash cans in the crop room and receive boxes every day and we have had to take trash to our car and drive it around to the back and I also pay Paul to come get the weekend trash after crops once a week so he can load it all in his pick up. I LOVE that door! LOL

SCRAP PINK WEEKEND, POSSIBLE EXPANSION
