P. T. 's PICKS

The stamped stitches and stamp templates are must haves. Sewing in your books is the new craze and these will give you the same look. Try the template with glaze pens or try embossing the stitch stamps for a 3-d look.

KAREN, LEXIE, DIVA AND DAISY

Karen and Lexie came in to see
Diva and Daisy. Lexie is just a little doll!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY QUEEN DIVA!

Last night we all went out to dinner for moms birthday. We went to El'Bee's in Waterloo. They moved it and it is now where Harr's used to be. It was really nice and lots bigger. Still have yummy margharitta's! My brother made a cake called "Better than sex cake" for my mom. They said it was awesome.

HUGE BLOGGERS BONUS!!!

Buy one get 50% off on everything in the store until February 8th, 2008. PLEASE help us make more room in the store for all the new items from the trade shows in January and February. There has never been a better time to stock up scrapbook supplies. We are just west of Omaha Nebraska and about 20 minutes from Lincoln Nebraska. If you have never been to our scrapbook store there has never been a better time to come check us out. It even includes the custom albums. You must mention the bloggers sale when checking out as it is a private sale. There are also 2 FULL racks of clearance items. One is 50% off and one is 75% off.

*Excludes handmade/custom/premade items. Excludes online store. Custom albums ARE included.

NEW SCALLOPED PAPER CUTTER

We now have a cutter that will cut any paper into a 12x12 scalloped paper. It is .50 per sheet for us to cut your paper. It just take a couple minutes.

We also stock scalloped paper in solid colors (Bazzil) .

A CUTE VALENTINES PAGE

This was a fun page to do. You could do it with any shape. Just mark the shape with an invisible pen (sold at P.T.'s) Then I outlined it in removable glue dots to tack the pieces of paper down and then stitched them and then used an adhesive remover to remove any excess glue dots. We have a full size crafters sewing machine in our crop room for you to use if you do not have a sewing machine.

I used pearl glimmer mist on the black paper. I love using Bazzil Bling paper but if they do not have the color you need, spray colored card stock with pearl glimmer mist and it gives it the same look as Bazzil Bling.

For more ideas on Glimmer Mist see Vickis blog at http://www.vickichrisman.blogspot.com/ and she designs for them and the queen of glimmer mist.

AWESOME TIP FOR DYMO LABELERS

Ok, how many of you have those old Dymo labelers? Most of you, right? If not buzz to Target and pick one up. They are great with the labels you can buy for them but try this tip.

  • Cut a piece of cardstock the width of the tape that fits into your labeler.
  • Then run it through your labeler just like you would the tape that is made for the labeler.
  • After it comes out lightly sand with an emery board and this will reveal the letters.
  • You can even ink or chalk over them at that point.

Now your colors of labels are ENDLESS!!!

PAINT DABBERS and bloggers bonus

Paint dabbers are one of my favorite products. If you use chipboard the dabbers and the edging tool kit are a must have! If you are not familiar with paint dabbers, they are acrylic scrapbook paint in bottle with a top like a bingo dabber. Then when you go scrapbook there is nothing to clean up, you just use the dabber like a brush. They are a lot faster drying also. Of course they are a Tim Holtz item! :)

Blogger Bonus: We just got in the new travel cases which hold 6 dabbers. Mention this bloggers special and get the case for free when you buy the 6 dabbers to fill it!!!! Mail order customers can also use any of our blogger specials!

NEW ITEMS CAME TODAY mixture and special order sewing case

  • all surface pencils for marking photos, white and black
  • wedding book page title packs (3 different styles)
  • cow stickers
  • tutto sewing machine bag (special order)
  • aqua paint dabbers
  • paint dabber case (holds 6 dabbers)
  • brownie girl scout paper
  • bone folder
  • silver jingle bells shotz
  • Stitch templates
  • Stitch stamps and clear blocks

TRYING TO WORK!

Diva and Daisy are starting to get to the age they are jealous of each other. If I pick up one the other will whine at me. Lets just hope they do not get too much bigger as I need one hand to type! :)

ETCHING ACRYLIC ALBUMS

I am hooked on acrylic!!! I tried etching acrylic with Magic Wand (a type of engraver sold at P.T.'s). It came out awesome. You can use the acrylic sports albums and then put your child's number or school monogram on the front. You can also do just an outline and color in the middle or etch the whole area. I just made a template by cutting out an accucut letter. You could put a whole name or saying on an album also. Next Monday when I imprint I am going to see if the acrylic is imprintable. These are large albums about 8 inches and they have chipboard pages inside. VERY popular!

See photos. (on the "N" the film on the back of the acrylic is still on so it would show up in the picture and the reason it looks hazy. Top left corner shows how you can etch the whole letter. If you atch the shole letter you could rub and ink pad or marker on it and the color would stay where it is etched.

CLASS REGISTRATION OPENS TOMORROW AND BLOGGERS BONUS

The three classes offered on February 3rd will open tomorrow January 29th at 10:00am. The samples are in the front window at the store. You are going to love these layouts and get to try lots of products. If you mention you read about it on the blog you get a $10.00 gift certificate if you take all three classes. (bloggers only bonus)

ALWAYS PREACHING WHITE

You all know I am always saying, white, white, white. I use white brads, flowers, ribbons etc. Use ink pads, chalks, Markers, and slick writers, sharpies, to color them all to match my layouts. This layout I used white rick rack and then colored it in with red, pink and blue Zig markers to match my layout. It is also on display at the store if you want to see it better as the colors did show up that well in the photo.

ACRYLIC PUZZLES

We sell these acrylic puzzles and I could not wait to use one in a layout. I like how it came out. I just did the edges of the puzzle with slick writer and then used a glue stick under where the red is. The letters are the wood tiles. It is on the display at the store as the phots do not do it justice.

STAY AT HOME MOMS CROP WAS A BLAST!

We had the first stay at home moms crop today. We need to get more people but it was a success. Cathy did SIXTEEN pages!!! That was amazing! She does power layouts. I wish I were that organized. We had Panera bagels, ordered in Pizza and there was lots of chocolate!!!
In February it will be held on the 18th as I will be out of town at a crop in Kansas City. If you are interested in going, registrations have to be in by February 6th. See www.pixiepresskits.com and check under newsletter and then under fantasy retreat. Rooms are 89.99 and can be shared. We can also carpool.

STAY AT HOMES MOMS CROP STARTS TOMORROW

Tomorrow (Monday) is our first stay at homes moms crop. If you want to come just show up tomorrow or call. It will be the 4th Monday of every month.

MOVIES AND LAUNDRY

Today Liz and Trev worked. My 16 and 18 year old kids rooms were FULL of dirty clothes and it was driving me crazy. They both have jobs and my oldest works and goes to high school and also college so he is not ever home. We loaded it all up and hit the laundry mat. They ended up doing 26 loads between the two of them! It is a wonder they had clothes to wear. I did about 5 loads also.

After we got it all done Trev, Paul, Ruth, Zacheus and I went to go see the movie "The Bucket List". It was a great movie. Liz has a bible study on Sunday nights so she did not get to go. I took Diva and Daisy with us to the movies and they slept through most of it. Then we came home and Diva and Daisy got baths. Now they are on our bed wrestling. They are so cute!

DIVA NIGHT!

We had an awesome Diva Night last night. It was a new group of ladies and they were a hoot!!! We had Panera's soup in bread bowls and it was great! Liz surprised them all and went out and got hot fudge sundaes. We gave lots of prizes!

The Diva of the night!

You know you're a scrapbooker if.....

You have to take pictures to go with the paper and stickers you already bought.

TWINS AND PUPS

Ruth and Zacheus came in today with Trev to drop some stuff off. The twins had just come from basketball and cheerleading. Don't they look adorable?? I got Diva and Daisy little cheerleader outfits to wear to next weeks game. I will be sure to have them get a picture of them.

VALENTINES MAILBOX

Check out this wonderful Valentines project. I am on the hunt for more of these mailboxes. If anyone finds them, email me and I will share it with the group.

Daniel Dobson

OK...I will teach :)

I get lots of emails from people asking me to teach classes. I will teach classes on February 2. There are three different classes that day. Sign up for all three and get a $10.00 gift certificate.
I am not a formal "teacher". I just love to show people different techniques so we will see how it goes. hee hee (If all else fails there will be chocolate! :)

You know you're a scrapbooker if.....

You work so many hours on a layout you forget what day it is.

NEW ITEMS CAME TODAY shotz

We got in over a THOUSAND Shotz today. If you are not familiar with Shotz, they are 12x4 inch photos that are great as borders, cut them out with die cut letters and the reason they are so hot right now is they fit perfectly in the cricut machine. You will be amazed how awesome your pages look when your letters are cut out of photographs as it makes them "pop" from the page. I have seen them sold for $3.99-$6.99 and we sell them for only $2.99!!!

ZACHEUS HAS A NEW HAIR STYLE

Zacheus begged me to take a photo of him for the blog this morning before school. He got a brand new hair style and even got the tips of his hair dyed. He looks so handsome! oooops, I mean cool! He searched through books at Kids Cuts and picked his own style this time. My baby is growing up. :(

JASONS NEW STORE OPENS FEBRUARY 1

Jason plans to open the Bow Wow Pet Boutique and Bakery -- a combined pet store, pet accessory and furniture shop, and pet treat bakery -- on Feb. 1 in downtown Le Mars, Jason Heck has his hands full. Good thing his chihuahua Barbra, the inspiration for the store and a line of doggie fashion Heck's store will sell, only takes up one hand. Dogs, he said, are welcome in his store.

If any of you know Karen Smith, her cousin is working full time for Jason. We found this out from Jason as he said he was talking to her about Diva and Daisy and she said "I have been to that store". They had rented the crop room Thanksgiving weekend and they spent lots of time at the store. They live in Sioux City.

Liz and I are traveling up to see Jason in February. (That is Diva and Daisy's grandma Jason is holding. )

Diva and Daisy had lots of company today. Grandma and grandpa came and grandma brought them their first tiny little rawhide bones. They loved them! Then Tawnya , a customer and her mom came in to shop and they fell in love with the puppies. She even offered to babysit while we go to the conventions. hee hee Later another lady came in and wanted Jasons information about Fabby the last puppy. I will be saying a prayer he finds a home.

~*~ Creating Keepsakes ~*~

I just got home to find the new Creating Keepsakes magazine in the mailbox. It is the best one ever!! You have to check it out. We do not sell these anymore but places like Target, Walgreens, Borders etc sell them. It is a must have as there is so much information on new tools and craft room organization etc. I cannot wait to have more time to read it cover to cover.

You know you're a scrapbooker if.....(this one came from a customer)

If your biggest fear is dieing without your scrapbooks completed.

I WON!!!!

I just got a phone call that I won a weekend scrapbook retreat! You always hear me talking about Vicki Chrisman (aka glimmer mist queen) and her wonderful classes and blog. http://www.vickichrisman.blogspot.com/ Well she has give aways and contests on there all the time and I always enter and the place that is having the retreat just called and said they drew my name! I about hyperventilated as I never win anything. A great Big thank you to Vicki and the girls at Serendipity.

If you are interested in going email me at mrsamystewart@cox.net or call the store 763-9675.

DIVA AND DAISY HIT THE ROAD

Check out this taxi cab dog bed I got for the Diva and Daisy. They love it! Zacheus my 8 year old pulls them around in it. It is so funny to watch! Paul said we should get them a remote control car. hahahaha

NEW ITEMS CAME TODAY adhesives

We got in a ton of adhesives and all were refills except the new Tombo glue dots which is a new item.

Also in...

DAISY CAN DRIVE

SCRAPLIFT ME

We are going to be adding a class on making the torn paper animals in February.

Diva Ruth

Ruth is all Diva! I for the most part let her pick out her own clothes. (just nothing low cut etc) She picked out this coat last year and I tried talking her out of it as I thought she would get tired of it. She never got tired of it and wearing it again this year. She even got a leopard print one this year. She is all Diva! She loves to wear dresses and I had a call from her gym teacher last year and she said Ruth will not put on her tennis shoes in gym and that Ruth thought that her teacher was picking on her by not letting her wear her "heels" in gym. She is quite a girl!

Movies

My daughter and I went to a couple really late night movies last night. We have had 4 funerals in the last few weeks and needed some laughs. We went to see Mad Monday and also 27 dresses. Mad Money was so so. 27 dresses was awesome. I did not think I would like it since I have been mad at Izzy on Grays Anatomy since she slept with George. But it was a great movie, you laugh and you cry. They had no school today so I am home today and Liz and I slept in until 10:00 when we heard Ruth playing the piano trying to get us up. I have to go into the store later to do some imprinting and lots of laundry. Zacheus stayed all night with grandma so I have to go pick him up also. Did it warm up out there????

Mary left you paper tote

I am hoping Mary reads this as she left her paper bag at crop this weekend. Needless to say from now on we are taking names and phone numbers from all croppers so in case something is left we can call people. :)

STAY AT HOME MOMS CROP

We started stay at home mom crops during the day this month. The one on the 4th Monday of every month that goes from the time you drop the kids off until you have to pick them up. We have two signed up and need another one to get this group going. Please call the store if you can come to this crop. It just meets once a month and if you are a stay at home mom you know how important that adult time is. hee hee

BIG SALE!

Check your email for the private sale going on. It is a big one as we have to clear as much out as possible before convention. So we are making incentives for everyone to come in and stock up. We have Memory Trends at the end of January and CHA the 9-13th of February. There will be lots of new stuff. So PLEASE come help us make room for new product.

If you did not get the email, email ptdiva@ptdiva.com and put SALE in subject and they will forward you the sale information.

WEIGH IN DAY

We weighed the puppies today. Daisy finally made it to 2 pounds and Diva was 2.3 pounds. They are growing. They do not sleep as much and love to wrestle. I was running laps around the store with them when we did not have customers in the store but they are learning. Diva runs under fixtures and you have to try to catch her. hee hee I think it may be time for leashes. :) There were two wonderful teenagers at the crop Friday night and they played with the puppies most of the night. The puppies were sad to see them leave at the end of the night.

You know you're a scrapbooker if....

You bought everything to scrapbook your vacation before you have taken the vacation.

MONSTER COOKIES

Today I was in the mood to cook and threw a roast and vegetables in the oven and then thought since the oven was already heated up to make Monster Cookies. My kids love these! If you do not want to make them homemade the next best thing is getting them from Eileens Cookies on 144th and center.

3 eggs
1 1/4 cups packed light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 12-ounce jar creamy peanut butter (I always add extra)
1 stick butter, softened (real butter)
1 cup M&M's
1 cup chocolate chips
2 teaspoons baking soda
4 1/2 cups quick-cooking oatmeal (not instant)

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line cookie sheets with parchment paper or nonstick baking mats.
In a very large mixing bowl, combine the eggs and sugars. Mix well. Add the salt, vanilla, peanut butter, and butter. Mix well. Stir in the chocolate candies, chocolate chips, raisins, if using, baking soda, and oatmeal. Drop by tablespoons 2 inches apart onto the prepared cookie sheets.
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes. Do not overbake. Let stand for about 3 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool. When cool, store in large resealable plastic bags.

mmmm.......

Diva and Daisy...the daily report

Today is the first day since we got the puppies I have been home alone. So I let the puppies have free run of the house. They ran and ran and ran and fell asleep. hahahaha They were so cute to watch checking everything out. We have a bird also and the bird kept trying to talk to the dogs and blowing woof whistles at them. it was hilarious. It tried to get a photo of them but Daisy does not sit still. Diva is sued to the camera and loves to pose. She will be the ultimate scrapbook Diva. It is funny as Jason always took photos of the pups for me and I never seen Daisy sitting still in them either. :)

ONE MORE PUPPY LEFT FOR SALE click on photo to enlarge

Jason just emailed me new photos of the last puppy. It turned out to be one of the cutest of all the pups!!! (besides Diva) hee hee This is the one I told you he nicknames "Fabby" short for Fabio as it had the longest hair. It also is the smaller one. I cannot believe how CUTE he is!!!! The dad weighed 3lb and mom was 5 so these puppies stay very small. Since it is the last one it is down to only $400.00. Jasons new pet store will open in February in Sioux City. Liz and I are making a road trip to check it out and go visit our pups mom and dad. I need to find a home for Fabby before we go visit his store as you know me I will bring Fabby home too. :)

That bottom photo looks like he is smiling. :)

Bunco

We had our first Bunco group for the year last night. It was a lot of fun. We need two more regulars if you live in the area and are interested in being a regular or a sub email me at mrsamystewart@cox.net or call me 7402- 763-9675 Most months are at the store and sometimes it is at a home in the area. Next month it is at a home in Elkhorn and on February 13th.

DAISY AND DIVA ARE VERY SOCIAL

Customers love to come in and play with the pups and the pups love the attention. They will be very well socialized. It is funny as the bell goes off when someone comes in the store and the pups will be asleep and as soon as it rings they want to see who came in and if they came to see them.

Daisy loved playing in the winter jacket. :)

I think Diva would have went home with her. She loved to snuggle up inside her jacket and gave lots of kisses.

You know you're a scrapbooker if.....

All you have to do to clean up your house is to pick up your scrapbook supplies.

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION

My new years resolution was to get to work an hour earlier at least three times a week and get a two page spread done. I am far behind on my scrapbooking and trying to catch up.

Set time aside to get your scrapbooking done. Friday night crops were what got me through my week when my kids were little. I looked forward to Friday and my husband looked forward to Saturday as he would let me sleep in as sometimes I would crop until morning. But he always loved me going as that "mom time with other moms" made me a better mother and wife.

Digital pictures: Do you take digital photos and never print them? Try online photo printers like target, wal-mart or my favorite is walgreens as you can edit your pictures very easy. I just go through and edit and upload them and pick them up when I get to the store. We also do photo printing via memory cards, uploading to ptdiva@ptdiva.com or CD's at the store. We can also print out your digital scrapbook pages up to 13*19 inches.

NEW ITEMS IN TODAY glue gliders

These are tje new Glue Gliders we got in. . They are about a foot wide! They will be great as you will not have to keep refilling all the time and they have a vellum refill that is suppose to be excellent which have not come in yet. If anything they will be a conversation piece when you crop! They run $49.99 and refills are $15.99 and vellum refill $17.99. They would be excellent for classes and weekend crops. We got in 6 so we will see how they do.

COOTIES

I was telling my son about David Cross who plays Uncle Ian in the "Alvin and the Chipmunks" movie being on the show "Just Shoot Me". He played a guy who was faking that he was mentally retarded. It was one of those lines from a show that sticks with you the rest of your life. :)

After showing him the video clip I found I looked around on You Tube and found this funny clip about "Cooties" which I had to share. It is so funny!!!

I have a weird sense of humor. hee hee :)

brrr.....

It was so cold when I came into the store this morning. They had turned the heat totally off instead of just turning it down. The puppies I covered with a blanket and they were still cold. So I put them in a stocking cap and they stayed in it for over an hour until it warmed up in the store. The puppies were adorable!

A TRUE DIVA

The puppies are so different in personality. Daisy I think is part squirrel. She is very hyper. Diva is so laid back. Tonight she was totally Diva! Check out this cute photo.

TIP: Simplify packing for a crop with these tips

I like to simplify when I go crop at a camp, hotel or somewhere that does not carry supplies. Here are a few tips.

Eyelets and Brads: Notice in the photo of the tool turn about below, I have lots of sharpie pens? I buy white eyelets and brad and color them to the color I need with a sharpie pen. It saves me from having to carry around tons of colors of eyelets. I add color to Jolee's and lots of other embellishments to make them match the colors of my page.

White flowers: Buy white flower and ink, paint or chalk them. Then you get a perfect match to your page.

CLEAR BUTTONS! I love them!!! Just cut a circle out of your paper and put behind the button. You then have custom buttons! I love them for photo corners, the middle of flowers and so much more. We carry clear buttons in all sizes.

You know you're a scrapbooker if.....

You drive 45 minutes in a snow storm to buy scrapbook supplies.

BACK TO WORK

We have been pretty busy today. I had a lady in this afternoon that has been making the cutest invitations for her three kids birthday parties. She worked on them last week also. She needs to go into business as she said she loves just making invitations. She made hot dogs on one, tea pots for another and the last one she made balls for a ball pit invitation.

It was actually nice to get back to work today as we have had a house full of teenagers two nights in a row and I think they are bats as they stay awake all night and sleep all day. It has really thrown my sleep pattern off. *yawn*

Diva and Daisy came to work with me today along with Ruthy. Ruthy has been doing some of her craft kits she got for Christmas.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!! 2008

I hope you all had a wonderful and safe New Years Eve. We had a lot of fun and a house full of great friends to ring in the new year with. All the teenagers stayed all night as we did not want them driving with all the drunk drivers out. There was tons of great food! The kids all made gingerbread houses and it was neat to see how they all came out so different. We watched movies and they even let me watch "The Notebook" which is one of my favorite movies. The most fun we had was the silly string fight at midnight. (click on any photos to enlarge)

Happy New Year!!!

A friend of ours brought over their dog "Snickers" to socialize with the puppies.

The silly string Fight was so much fun! We had 20 cans and quite a mess. hee hee

They had a blast....now to clean it all up! :)

The girls were up by noon. They were not in a picture taking mood. hee hee

Paul made his gingerbread house with his girlfriends name on it. How sweet.
