RECIPE FOR "like" MARY ELLENS BEST PRESS STARCH FOR QUILTERS

This is the recipe "like" Best Press starch.

Mix together:
1 tsp scented essential oil (found in Walmart candle supplies aisle and they have lots of scents) Note: scent is optional if allergic to scents.
3 oz. vodka (YES vodka) LOL
Then add to 24oz distilled water in large spray bottle and shake well.
(Hint: Vodka is made from potatoes , a natural starch.)
..
Add one drop of food color per gallon (optional)

My mom went and got the supplies for it today and she got linen scent and it smells so good! With all the ingredients it was under $15 to make 2 gallons and one small bottle of Best Press costs you that much! I love saving money with quilting :)

ANOTHER GREAT HALLOWEEN IDEA

You all know I am into recycling. Well here is another recycling idea. Get figurines from Goodwill of brides and grooms or other figurines. I found these pictures that the middle was 3 dimensional figurines. (from Goodwill) Look at the figurines to see how the heads will come off the best. You can cut te neck off or I just hold the body with one hand to keep it from breaking and knock the heads off.

If you check Dollar Tree they have all sizes of skeletons and just pull the heads off and hot glue or e-6000 on the new heads. You can then paint it if it needs touched up, leave as is or spray paint the whole piece a solid color.

You now have one of a kind Halloween art.

We worked on the back of the store this weekend. We got the fence up but still need to find a welder but I think that will have to wait for spring. We added a grill and looking for a picnic table for people to eat outside during crops. My friend Marj gave me this awesome butterfly mural and it looks fabulous out back.

FLEA MARKET

I took a half day off and went to the flea market in Venice. I love going and so do my children We even took the dog. :) I will share more finds with you as I get them unpacked.

I loved this huge megaphone. When we have birthday parties at the store we all dress up in hats and boas and walk around downtown and sing happy birthday This megaphone will be awesome for the leader of the group. It was very ugly but with a coat of spray paint and some vinyl dots it has been diva-fied.

I found this thermos and it just reminded me of fall weather. I used a cropadile through the thermos lid and tied them to the thermos with lace and added flowers.
The twins ove kettle corn and they try it everywhere we go that sells it. They say the guy at the flea market has the best.
