Cake Decorating Class coming to Precious Treasures

It's back! The class where you use any of your electronic cutters, be that Silhouette, Cricut, Gazelle...and decorate cakes! You do not need to own a special machine just for cake decorating, just a separate housing unit and blade. This class will be held Saturday, October 8 from 10-12:30.The thing I love about using my Cricut and Silhouette for cake decorating is that I can have a theme run throughout a party and also really impress my friends without a lot of extra effort or skills. The above cake was made for a baby shower I co-hosted. I used the New Arrival Cricut Cartridge to make that adorable baby, the print and cut feature on the Silhouette to make the diaper (but I could have used my Cricut for it), and I used the same "it's a girl" font on a banner as well. I love how I was able to tie the two things together.(the zebra cutout was made using my Silhouette, polka dots cut with frosting sheets, cake topper designed by Simply Said by Courtney)

For $60, you get a cake provided by Alotta Brownies that you will decorate, access to a Cricut to decorate your cake, instructions on how to make and condition gumpaste, light snacks, a gumpaste sample to take home to use, frosting sheets provided by Icing Images to use in class and take home and the 2 DVD set, "Creative Designs for Children", created by Linda McClure, the inventor of this electronic cutting method. I will also demonstrate the Silhouette's "print and cut" feature, so you can see how to add amazing images to your cakes in seconds. There will also be a door prize drawing at the end of the class!

Jessica Remington was present when the idea of using an electronic cutter for cake decorating was "born" and it was her 6 inch Cricut that first was used to experiment with this method. She's been decorating cakes since 2007. She's trained extensively under Linda McClure, creator of this method, taking Linda's advanced classes in Natchez, MS, and has assisted in Linda's 1 day class.
