TOYJA AND VERONICA CATCH THE BAD GUYS

Sunday Toyja and Veronica had lots of excitement at the store. The lady who forged the check for over 500.00 at the store came to bring the stuff back and there were three cop cars there right away. They got her and Veronica and Toyja did an awesome job. I could not be there as I missed Saturdays Christmas pageant production in the afternoon due to waiting for them and could not miss again as I am in charge of my group.

This has been one of the most stressful things I have had to deal with in business and been very discouraging. It is a very sad situation.

CHICAGO WEATHER

It figures, I am leaving for Chicago at 6am tomorrow to take my son Zacheus to the museums there for his Christmas present and check out the weather forecast and you can drop that about 10 degrees as the wind there makes it feel so much colder. Mon21°F 11°F................
Tue25°F 22°F.........Wed23°F 9°F. brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Zacheus has never been to Chicago and is so excited to go. We will be back Wednesday late afternoon as the Christmas pageant starts again Wednesday night. Keep our safety and warmth in your prayers. They say it is a lot rougher in Chicago right now due to the economy and at Christmas people get desperate.

PRECIOUS TREASURES STAKE OUT

We had our own little stake out at the store yesterday. Friday Hannah took a check fora purchase at the store for over $500.00 and Saturday morning I made the bank deposit only to find out the bank account the check was written off of was not even a valid account number. The check address matched the address on the drivers license so the drivers license was also fake.

After doing research on the internet I found the person in Iowa who had their identity stolen by this customer. God played a HUGE part in this as how I found out all that I did was unbelievable. I got a valid phone number for a cell phone from another state who was investigating Darla D. McGinnis and called it and talked to the lady and she said she would bring back all the merchandise yesterday which I missed the afternoon Christmas pageant production waiting around the store for. (needless to say I was not happy) So we are going to press charges and found out this lady is wanted in 14 states.

The way she does it is she moves to a town in an apartment, does not pay her rent and waits until the eviction process is just about complete and then writes all the fake checks on a shopping spree and move to the next place selling the stuff on ebay, craigs list etc. It is a sad life.

Why did she have to pick our store as we are a small family owned business so stealing over $500.00 is a HUGE hurt on us especially right before Christmas. :( Needless to say we are going to get a machine that turns checks into a debit card transaction and until then unless you are a regular customer we are not taking checks. We are sorry for any inconvenience. We have added American Express to our credit card acceptance.

Keep this lady in your prayers as a person like this only God can turn around. I can only imagine that she must be into drugs to be able to live life the wa she does.

Veronica was working on class projects and I was working on gifts for Christmas Pageant workers. Paul was bored and fell asleep on our little stake out and Veronica was teasing, saying I blogged the pictures of him sleeping at the garage sale also and that Paul sleeps around. LOL He was not feeling good as I think he has what we all were sick with last week.

CHRISTMAS DECORATING

Ruth was home this week sick with strep so it gave me time to get decorations out for Christmas. I usually have trees in different rooms but when I was putting them together this year I thought it was kind of neat having them all three together. Paul came home and was teasing me there was a forest in the living room and he was going to bring home a life size deer and a tree stand. LOL

I collect nutcrackers. If you ever have any you are getting rid of let me know. :)

All the Snow Babies the kids have bought me.

CHRISTMAS WRAP IDEAS

For the redneck, man, mechanic etc. take duct tape and layer it sticky side to sticky side and cut with decorative scissors add a tool and you will have a great conversation piece. Ruth sat and cut it all out since she was home sick today. She did a great job for her big brothers gift.

One of our croppers was making the cutest cards last weekend at crop. She took old fashioned paper which looked like an old ornament box and put the word "Noel" on them bent out of silver pipe cleaners. It was beautiful. It gave me the idea for the mini stocking as seen above that I tied on some presents. I love cropping with other people as you get so many ideas.

YOU KNOW YOU ARE A SCRAPBOOKER IF.....

You not only collect scrapbook paper but collect wrapping paper too. (I have scrapbooked many times with wrapping paper) Just invest in an acid testing pen. They are right at the register in our store as we sell so many of them. It is a must for all scrapbookers.

WINTER IS HERE

Well winter is here and so is the cold and flu season. I was home sick Sunday and Ruth was home today. She just started to get sick before pageant last night and by this morning could barely move her neck as her throat hurt so bad. SWEET VERONICA came in at 3:30 so I could get Ruth to the doctor and sure enough she tested positive for Strep. Veronica was an angel as the doctor said as long as Ruth is on an antibiotic for 24 hours she could do pageant tomorrow night which Ruth was so worried about missing. Please keep her in your prayers as well as the rest of the families in the Westside Church Christmas pageant as satan works very hard against the pageant as so MANY people come to know Christ from the pageant.
