VALENTINES DAY

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentines Day. Trev has never even given me a card for Valentines day in the last 15 years and this year he went all out! He took me out to that new movie theatre downtown that you have dinner at and watch a movie. We seen the movie "Valentines Day". Then he gave me a dozen roses and a beautiful card. THEN, he surprised me with not one bird but two! I have been visiting this pink bird for months as it was at the pet store just a couple blocks down from the store and of course I liked it as it was pink. Well Trev got word that I liked the pink bird from a little bird (Liz )and bought the pink one and her room mate. They are at the store for you all to come visit. We named them "Pinky" and "The brain" from cartoons. hee hee :) One is a Rosy Bourke and the other is a Rainbow Bourke. They come from australia. VERY pretty!

GATHER THREE FRIENDS AND TAKE CLASSES

We are going to have class samples on the class wall in the work room. Gather three friends and you schedule the classes you want to take at a time that works for you and the teacher.

WORKING ON THE WORKROOM

WOW! Time has flown as I see I have not blogged since the 9th! I have been working so hard at the store. We got lots of lighting in the basement finally so we can see better down there. It is going to be a long haul to get the basement done but my goal is fall to get it where I want it to be. I have also been working on the work room. I have started grouping all the die cuts and framing them. We have over 1200 so this is a HUGE job. I also NEED frames. If you have any old pictures you are getting rid of drop them at the store. I have been to the goodwill about every day checking for pictures. I need tons of them. I also am sanding down all the tables and painting them. It is going to really look nice when it is done. :)

QUILTING IS JUST AS ADDICTIVE AS SCRAPBOOKING

I took a quilt class last night at Create and all that I can say is "UH OH!" Quilting is just as addictive as scrapbooking. I went as many of our customers are starting to sew on Diva nights as we welcome any craft you want to work on. I put together all the blocks to make a crib quilt and next class we sew them together already. It goes very fast and there are as many different fabrics as there are scrapbook paper. hmmmm... now which room in the house can I take over for quilting??? LOL

I went to the quilt store in Fremont today called Country Traditions and they are offering a 5-week intense beginners class. It is from 6-9:30 on Thursdays and starts March 11th. The 5-week session is only $59.99. I am going to take the class also as I want to get the basics down as my next project is a king quilt for my bed. So come join me. LUTHERAN FAMILY SERVICES

I volunteered again yesterday at Lutheran Family Services for the moms there to scrapbook. They need donations of:

• baby papers and embellishments
• albums
• adhesives
• cardstock/mat stacks

You all have been awesome supporters of the moms there and I cannot thank you enough. The moms there are thrilled to get to scrapbook. I would take photo's but I am not allowed due to privacy issues. If you would like to volunteer it is the 2nd monday of each month and there is a morning and an evening session. email amy@ptdiva.com if you have donations or would like to volunteer.
