NEBRASKA SEX OFFENDER LIST

Well an update on the Nebraska sex offender list.

I have a person I went to college with who is on the list. He downloaded a bunch of porn which so many men have. Well when you download images in swaps you never know what you are getting on the site he was on and he got convicted of receiving child porn as 5 of the photos were kids in bathing suits at the beach but they were mixed in with all the other porn. This was thirteen years ago. By the time it got through all the court system he ended up with 2 different charge and sentenced 5 years apart. So on the list it looks like two seperate convictions of receiving child pornography. And since it was over the internet it is federal court as they consider that crossing state lines. So....13 years ago....since that time, he has been through treatment for porn addiction and leads groups on helping other people with porn addiction for 10 years now.

Now the list is public...he is being tortured by people at work, there are posters up in his neighborhood, someone went door to door with fliers on him, they harass his wife and kids. He has been threatened to quit work. It made me cry hearing all that people are doing to them.
This is so wrong.

Another case is a guy who was urinating outside and someone turned him in. So he now is on the list as exposing himself.

And another example, a 18 year old dated a 16 year old and when he turned 19 the daughters dad filed charges against him because he did not like the boy. Now this man has a lifelong listing on the Nebraska sex offender list for rape.

This list is not a fair list as it does not show all the facts and what they have done since they were convicted. It is like punishing these people all over again. Not to say there are not people on the list we should stay away from. But before we judge someone we should have all the facts and this list is not giving them. It is unconstitutional.

Please go to the web site http://constitutionaldefense.org/ and show your support. They are raising funds to try to get the law changed. Also help fight porn on the internet all together. Laws need to be passed to get rid of all internet porn as it destroys marriages which I know from experience. It is happening more and more all the time.

DIVA BIRTHDAY PARTY

We had an awesome Birthday party at the store today. They were just adorable.

SURPRISE

Well I have been working like crazy and exhausted but wait till I am done. I am going back to the store after I get off work at The Chick Market to finish the trim but the basement is finally opened up. Weird why they closed it off? We did find some burnt rafters down there so there was a fire at one time. The building is over 100 years old and I would love to do all the history on it. Someday I also would like to own it. :) I need to buy more lottery tickets. LOL

We moved a lot out of the crop room to the basement and made it more roomy in the crop room. We have so needed more storage at the store and a place I can work on projects and store overstock and new inventory and it added another 2500 square feet! I am THRILLED!

We have the crop room booked friday through sunday next week for a private rental for a group that rents it regularly. I cannot wait for them to see it. I will not get to be there as I leave Friday for CHA! :) Dont miss out on the Main Street Bingo shop hop the 21-30th as we want our customers to win :)

SEWING LEVEL 2 CLASS STARTS JANUARY 27th

Cost is $20.00 per class for a total if 120.00 for the session. You will make a skirt or a blouse in class. She has machines if you do not have one.

SAMPLES FOR UPCOMING CRICUT VINYL PROJECTS CLASS

Hello, Precious Treasures fans! This is Veronica, the Cricut instructor. So, I've spent the last week working on samples for my Cricut Vinyl Projects class, which is scheduled for Jan. 30 here at Precious Treasures in Fremont.
I love working with vinyl on my Cricut. The vinyl itself is actually very thin and easy to cut, it is the backing that is thick -- but most of the time you don't want to cut the backing anyway.
You can vinyl on so many things for so many reasons. The pictures are examples of what we will do in the class, but the final product will be slightly different since I like to make sure my students have unique projects that suit their own tastes.




First, this is a vinyl welcome sign adhered to my front door. This actually involves two layers of vinyl made to look like just one piece.

This is one of those inexpensive wooden frames from Michaels painted white and embellished with scrapbook paper and the word "love" cut in vinyl. Actually a pretty simple project -- the hardest part was adhering the paper to the frame.

And lastly, my favorite project of the class -- a glass candy jar that would be a great teacher's gift for Valentine's Day. The best part of this jar is that it is made from one of my husband's many, many empty olive jars! I painted the lid and added some ribbon. Then decorated it with vinyl.

Now, the actual glass jar we use in class may be different depending on how many students I have and how many olive jars hubby goes through between now and then :)

I have not been able to see the commercial but we have been flooded with emails from our customers saying they seen us on the Slice Commercial. That was taped when we went to CHA in Florida in July. woo hoo!

SCRAP AND CRAFT GARAGE SALE

BRIX, NEW WINE AND SPIRIT STORE IN OMAHA

New Store review: The new Brix store is open at Village Point in Omaha. (168 dodge) Brix is a wine and spirit store. It is very large with a big selection. Service in wine area was very poor as I was in there for probably a half hour and they were not busy but no help. So I did not buy any wine. The beer area person working was wonderful! I love dark, beers, the darker the better and you can buy 6 packs but pick out 6 different bottles. I got 12 new ones to try. He was a lot of help as there must be over 1000 different beers. They also have cheeses, breads, and a wine tasting area. Let me know what you think of the store.
