A great use for those photo envelopes is to use them to store die cuts, stickers and embellishments and then label them to what theme they are and store them in a photo box. It is an inexpensive way to organize and very convenient to take to crops.

Another movie night last night. Hubby, Paul and I went to see Johnny Depp in Sweeny Todd. Very bloody movie but it was good. I LOVE musicals and this is the first one I have seen with a scary storyline.
This morning we slept in a little and then went to church. The puppies went to church with us this morning as I leave from church and go straight to work. Everyone loved playing with the puppies and it was hard to find who had them after service was over as they kept passing them around.

Daisy loves to help at the store. If the pups are going to be at the store we thought we should put them to work. Daisy loves to work on the computer. Diva loves to eat, sleep and eat some more.

Divas ear has been bothering her this morning and she sits and wimpers and grabs at it. Well today at the store I looked over at the pups and Daisy was kissing Diva's ear. It was the cutest thing. I talked to Paul my oldest son this morning telling him about Diva's ear and before you know it he showed up at the store as he went to the pet store to see if he could find something to comfort Diva. He called them rats when we got them and he is so in love with them. He gets home from work each night about 10:30 and heads right for their kennel to see them. They are just adorable. Customers just love walking around holding them so they will be very spoiled. :) Stop by and visit them.

We had an awesome girls night with all my friends last night. We shopped at Village Point and then went to see the move "P.S. I love you". It is an awesome chick flick. It was Rosemary's birthday Christmas Eve so we celebrated over coffee and cookies at Paradise Bakery. She is the imprinter for Precious Treasures and also my kids Godmother. I unbelievable forgot my camera at the store last night as I got out of work an hour late as we were so busy. So I tried taking a photo with my phone. It was so hard to get up this morning and tonight is Diva Crop Night. Bring on the caffeine!

We had a busy day yesterday. Between throwing away a ton of wrapping paper and picking up the Christmas "explosion The puppies both had their first bath and Diva got a hair trim. Daisy loved it and Diva hated it. Last night we went to the pet store at Village Point and got them some treats and then I took the twins to see Alvin and the Chipmunks. It is a really cute movie!

We sold over 300 git cards during the holiday season and there is no better time to use them. The whole store is buy one get one 50% off until Sunday as we are getting ready for inventory. We want less to count and there is a trade show in January and one in February so lets make new for all the new products. Stock up for a long winter of cropping.

Christmas was a lot of fun. We spent Christmas Eve with Grandma and Grandpa Hansen as they always stay all night with us Christmas Eve. We had a wonderful dinner and my duck came out wonderful. Thank you for all the emails on tips for cooking duck. We also made a ham and all the fixin's. We opened some presents Christmas Eve and went to the Christmas Eve church service and picked up the puppies. It was a late night and an early morning as the kids were up by 6 and down the stairs by 7am.
The kids all opened all their gifts and we had pancakes, eggs, bacon and smoothies for breakfast. Grandma was in love with the puppies. Grandma and Grandpa Hansen later left to go visit family and we all rested for awhile as we were all tired.
We later all got dressed and drove to Fremont to my mom and dads for a delicious dinner. We later played a game of scrabble and watched the movie Hairspray which my sister got for Christmas. There was a bonus DVD with it which was really awesome to watch. This was the first Christmas in many years my mom had the whole family together which made her all smiles.

We went on Christmas Eve to go pick up Diva. Jason was in from Sioux City to visit family in Omaha so we went to their home to pick up Diva. He was just as awesome as I thought from about a month of emailing back and forth about Diva. He had the most beautiful box made up for Diva containing all her health records, food, medicine, an adorable dress, and even a toy that he rubbed all over Divas mom so Diva could sleep with it and not miss her mom as much. He also brought the white female with him and Divas grandma. (Divas grandma is the one Jason is Holding)

Jason said he will bring the pups to Omaha about 8pm tonight. He is bringing the other female if anyone is interested email me at mrsamystewart@cox.net I am such a sucker for animals I hope I can just end up with one puppy. :) There are two boys still left also and one of the boys is the cutest of the whole litter. Jason calls him "Fabby" short for "Fabio" as he has so much hair. All of them are as sweet as can be. He just sent me some photos he took today of our puppy with its mom and dad. Jason knows I am a scrapbooker and has been a gem taking photos. It has helped the kids not be so anxious as well as the puppies will just be 7 weeks today so they could not leave their momma.

I hope you are all ready for Christmas. I delivered gifts to friends and neighbors today. The rest of the day I spent cleaning and doing laundry. (I am pooped) Paul worked on my car for me as it would not start AGAIN at work last night and it was soooo... cold! Paul was asking for a remote starter for Christmas and I was asking for a remote jump starter. hee hee He thinks he has it fixed, I guess I will find out in the morning.
Tomorrow we are making a big dinner. Paul got a spiral ham from work and I bought a duck. I have never cooked a duck so if you have any tips please email me.
We get our new puppy tomorrow night. woo hoo!

My father in law buys most of our groceries to help us out and gets things by the case as he works at a grocery store. Well this month we got a case of canned pineapple and a case of Mandarin oranges. I wondered what I could do with it all. Well I made it into smoothies and the kids love them I make it by the gallon and store in the fridge.
Tropical Smoothies:
1 can pineapple
1 can Mandarin oranges (or orange juice concentrate)
1 can coconut milk
1 banana
sugar or sugar free sweetener to taste
Mix all in the blender and store in fridge. When you want a smoothie just mix with ice in the blender or my kids love to scoop up snow (white) and mix with it. It is full of vitamin C and good for the kids. My teenagers will even drink them in their morning rush.

I feel like I am waiting for a grandchild. Only 2 more days. We all are so excited about our new puppy "Diva" coming Christmas Eve. Even my 8 year old Ruthy made her one of those fleece blankets that you tie the edges on and Liz is making her a necklace. Hubby bought me a dog carrier for Christmas! I love it. I found the bowls at Gordmans and they say "Diva" on the inside of them, how cool is that?

You pass the gift left and right when someone reads the story.
At the end of the story you open the gift you end up with.
Christmas was almost here, and Mother RIGHT was finishing the Christmas baking.
Father RIGHT, Sue RIGHT, and Billy RIGHT returned from their last-minute Christmas errands.
"There's not much LEFT to be done," said Father RIGHT as he came into the kitchen.
"Did you leave the basket of food at church?" asked Mother RIGHT.
"I LEFT it RIGHT where you told me to," said Father RIGHT.
"I'm glad my shopping is done," said Billy RIGHT. "I don't have any money LEFT."
The hall telephone rang, and Susan RIGHT LEFT to answer it.
She rushed back and told the family "Aunt Tillie RIGHT LEFT a package for us RIGHT on Grandma RIGHT's porch.
I'll go over there RIGHT now and get it." she said as she LEFT in a rush.
Father RIGHT LEFT the kitchen and brought in the Christmas tree.
By the time Susan RIGHT returned, Mother RIGHT, Father RIGHT, and Billy RIGHT had begun trimming the tree.
The entire RIGHT family sang carols as they finished the decorating.
Then they LEFT all the presents arranged under the tree and went to bed, hoping they had selected the RIGHT gifts for their family.
Now I hope you have the RIGHT present for yourself, because that's all that's LEFT of our story.....
Except to wish you a Merry Christmas....Isn't that RIGHT?

If hubby still has shopping for you to do, we have gift cards available. We are even open on Christmas Eve. (that is when my husband shops) I hate to even go in stores on Christmas Eve as I do not like crowds. We also just got in more of the Cricut Cartridges which have been a popular gift this year and they are 40% off.

Jason still has not found homes for the last three puppies. See post on December 14-15th for information about them. He will bring them into Omaha Christmas Eve about 8pm. He updates me about every other day on them as we bought one from him and we are so anxious to meet her and he said they are so sweet.

One of our customers Steph Wolcott made these cute stockings. She dropped one off at the store today and they are adorable. She used Basic Grey Christmas Stamps, Vintage cuts, ribbon, sewing, embossing and LOTS of glimmer mist. She said she was putting teas and cocoas in them. What a beautiful gift they will make. It is on display at the store. If you make items you want to share let me know. We all are always looking for more ideas.

I was thrilled that I got out of work early last night in time to see Liz in the production of a 40's Christmas called the KEHS Radio Show. God has blessed her with so many talents. It was so good! They did a 40's radio show. My dad got to go see her last night as he got his brace off from his surgery yesterday (finally) He has been sleeping in a recliner for the past 6 weeks so I am sure he will be thankful to sleep in a bed.

I love Accu-Cut as you know. I try to support them as they are in Fremont Nebraska and I try to buy as many Nebraska products as possible. I am always looking for more uses for the dies. This morning I was making some quilted pads for our new puppies kennel. They are nothing fancy as I just used the crafting machine at the store. But my home machine is much better and I cannot wait to try this technique with it. I just cut a die cut out with tissue paper, pinned it on and then sewed around it. The tissue paper will just tear away and you are left with the shape. You can also cut shapes out of fabric and sew or iron them on. We have all the quilting shapes too as I love to make quilts with paper on pages but they are full size and you can cut your fabric out of them.
Top I just drew with the vanishing pens we sell and then sewed over it. The bottom was with a die cut, cut out of tissue paper. Sew areound it and tear away the tissue.

I feel like an elf. I have made up so many gift baskets and they go as fast as I can make them. Men love them as they just tell us how much they want to spend and what level scrapbooker their gift receiver is and we have it all packed and ready to go when they get here. It has been wonderful to see the mall parking lot full again. I hope the mall out here turns around and is like it was years ago. I used to love to come to this mall. When Sarah Lee and the Chicago Cutlery store went I did not make it out here as often.
The lady that won the Heartland Hop came in yesterday when I was off. I was so bummed I missed her. She was thrilled and got lots of goodies. This time when they do the Heartland Hop I am taking a day off and going with my friends. Everyone that came was having so much fun! They are talking about doing on in the spring. Hang onto your bag just in case they do something special for the "charter hoppers". :)
4 days until we get our new puppy!!!! We are counting down at our house. The kids are so excited. (so is mom) The kids last day of school is tomorrow and then Christmas Break. I wish they had more time before Christmas off to bake and go shopping with them.
Well, I am leaving for the day. Liz has a swing choir concert at 7:30 I need to go to. Have a great evening!

I hope you all got to watch the interview with the survivor Fred Wilson who worked in customer service at Von Maur. I just cried. Fred has no anger toward the shooter, he is in good spirits and a very courageous man. Notice he also was not surprised it happened. There needs to be more for teens. especially between the hours of 3 and 6 when parents are still working. I can only imagine what it will be like when my grandkids are teenagers. It is a scary situation as the teen years are the most confusing times of a persons life.
Von Maur will reopen tomorrow. Please support the store as we need to keep our money in Nebraska. I have learned if we need to support our state to make it a better place to live.

Got in 8 boxes of stuff late yesterday and just opened today. LOTS of new papers! I LOVE the new reminisce Christmas line!!! You have to see it. So much glitter and many of the papers are 12x12 shapes, like snowflakes, ornaments etc.
This is a partial list of paper themes we got in. There are just too many to list them all.

Vicki Fisher from Hastings was in and gave me a great idea for Birthday pages. Each year you put a favorite thing for each year. Like her daughter is turning 31 and she is doing "________ 31 favorite things". I LOVE the idea as kids change every year. What may have been a favorite thing last year may be totally different the next year. I was thinking about those mosaic square templates that you punch out the squares, you could just punch out the number of squares for the number of years and put each favorite thing in a square. I will try to do up an example this weekend at Diva Night and post it.

I probably had a couple hundred emails for the recipe so I thought it was easier to just put it on the blog. This was passed down from my favorite aunt. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have year after year.
1 1/2 c. butter (NOT margarine)
1/2 lb slivered almonds
2 c. sugar
1 packages white almond bark
1 12oz. packages of Ghiradelli or See's chocolate chips
8 ounces chopped walnuts.
Melt over medium heat and stir constantly until it reaches 300 degree. Use an accurate thermometer. When it reaches 300 degrees pour out on greased cookie sheet. Let cool. Use paper towels to absorb any excess butter. Melt almond bark on medium heat in the microwave until melted. Stirring about every 2 minutes. Then add chocolate chips until melted. Pour over toffee and then sprinkle chopped walnuts on it. Let cool and flip over and repeat the process on the other side. enjoy.

I would like to introduce you to little Diva. She will be at the store after the first of the year so you will get to meet her in person. She is the puppy we decided on. She is not weaned yet and this wonderful guy I found that lives in Sioux City is bringing her down Christmas Eve to surprise the kids with. Diva has two sisters and two brothers if you are interested in a puppy for Christmas he could bring yours down also.
They are part poodle and part chihuahua. They will be about 5 pound dogs. With the poodle in them, you do not get the shedding or dander/allergies. I would love it if little Diva had her brothers and sisters in the area. Diva is the large photo (tan with a darker face) The other girls are black and white and boys are the two buff colored ones. Price is $425.00 and he gives you a written 2 year health guarantee. If you want his number email me or call me at the store 402-763-9675.
