SURE GLAD I HAD A RELAXING EVENING LAST NIGHT.....

I am sure glad I had a relaxing evening last night as tonight was a crazy one. We traveled today to Grand Island to have Thanksgiving with grandma and grandpa Cornett and to see grandma and grandpa Hansen new apartment. Needless to say it was one of those "Calgon Take me Away" kind of drives home!!!! With 4 kids, Kayla Pauls fiance' and 2 dogs topped off with a grumpy hubby it was a very long trip. The kids had fun though and everyone was just getting tired. :)

MMM.... COCOA

After a VERY long day but a fun day as I had Ruth, Liz and Trevor all working today. Zach was at grandmas and Paul was home sleeping.

I could not wait to get home tonight and we got home about 9pm. My feet are so sore. I made homemade hot cocoa for the gang and going to go snuggle in bed with Saturday night live.
Nighty night all!!!

Cocoa, sugar and lots of vanilla. Mix together with a little milk to make a syrup. Then just keep adding that to whole milk until you get to the taste you want. Cook until the right temperature and add marshmallows. YUMMY!!

I found these cups at World Market on clearance last year and just love them. All of my dishes are white and it was one of the best changes I ever made as I used t always have a patterned dish set. They always look elegant. I can buy pieces wherever I want as so many places sell white dishes and I can add colored accent pieces for the holidays.

FISKARS NEW PUSH AND PRINT REVIEW

I bought one of the new Fiskars Push and Print stamp factory gadgets. It is a huge self inking platform that you put your acrylic stamps on.

USE: I really do not see any purpose for it unless you were making a large amount of cards or maybe doing an all over print on scrapbook paper.

PERFORMANCE: After three stampings it broke. Took it back to Archivers and got another one and after about a dozen times using it, it broke again where the platform will not lay flat to get an even stamping. I will be taking it back again for a refund.

This is a tool I will be discussing with Fiskars in January at the trade show as obviously it has some kinks to work out. Even the salesperson at Archivers said she did not recommend it. Bottom line, save yourself some money and skip this one until they work out the kinks.

DRAWING WINNER ANNOUNCED

Each hour of our sale today we gave away a different color ticket to show what discount you got when you checked out. From those tickets we drew one and McKenzie Weber won the $25.00 gift certificate. Congratulations!!! The first ITouch drawing is this week. If you have not entered hurry and stop by tomorrow from 1-6 to get your name in the drawing. You can enter once a day and there will be drawings each week until Christmas. It is for a 32 gig Apple I-Touch. These are ipods with internet. I have one and LOVE it! Anywhere there is wi-fi available you can connect and it is full web pages, not just the partial ones you get on the cell phones.

BLACK SATURDAY WAS A HUGE SUCCESS!

We have had an awesome black Saturday sale and thank you so much to all the customers as we appreciae your business!!! The first customer was here ar 6am and we did not even open until 10am! You all are crazy!! hahahaha We laughed as everyone was on their cell phones shopping for friends. We have had a non-stop line until now which it is after 1:30 pm and Trevor just ran to get us lunch as we did not even get time for breakfast today.

The highlight of today was little Toby. He is Diva and Daisy's brother and he came for a visit today. We were so excited to see him all grown up. He is a lot fluffier. Here is a picture Trevor took with his phone. I had my camera but no batteries! I was so bummed as I would love to have photos of them.

FRIDAY SHOPPING WITH FRIENDS!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving and hope you did also. We went to Fremont for dinner and then went to Michaels and lined up for their sale (which was a waste of time) Then went home fixed a little dinner, watched Kung Fu Panda and then off to bed as we had to be up at 4:00. I KNEW I should not have shopped from 6am until 10:00pm yesterday as OH MY ACHING FEET! LOL :) Some friends and I started out with breakfast and then lined up at Scheels for the early bird sales. We shopped around Village Point a bit and had to be at the Chick Market at 8:00 am for their sale. After we went to Regency Fashion Court and then Von Maur. (I like it where there are not a lot of people) After back to Village Point for the awesome tree lighting. If you have never gone you should go as it is spectacular. We shopped until it closed. Then went to Target to pick up a couple thinsg and we were done. I really only had yesterday to start and finish my Christmas shopping and I am DONE! All that I have left is stocking stuffers and finding my aunt some boxed greeting cards and stamps. I try to shop at places that wrap everything so I just have to come home and put them under the tree. Now just to get the tree up. hee hee

I thought today would be slow at the store as the BIG sale is not until Saturday and everyone should be home cooking. WRONG! I have been swamped and I let everyone else have today off and planned on just getting the rest of the boxes empty from yesterday. I wil be too exhausted to cook tonight and I still have to get groceries. Calgon take me away!!! LOL

BOXES!!! LOTS NEW IN TODAY!

UPS just came, woo hoo! LOTS of boxes today and I expect more via Fedex today yet. Check your emails for our sales this weekend and the store will be fully stocked for it.

A NEW COAT

Hubby told me to buy a leather coat for Christmas when I was in Chicago since I have turned into fatty McFatty after my last two abdominal surgeries my old one will not go around me. So I set out to find a leather coat and ....well...ummm... I kinda got side tracked. All that I can say as store should not put the handbag department on the way to the coat department. Handbags are my worst addiction and to top it off there was a CUTE pink handbag one and I had to have it. Between us girls we talked the guy into giving me 20% off so I saved money! (hubby always wants to know where the money I save him is) Then I found these cute pink shoooz! I may be freezing cold this winter but I will have a purse and shoes to match my cold red cheeks. :)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

FOOD BASKETS AND TOY DRIVE

Fridays crop bring 3 cans of food (or more) and get in for free. We are going to do an ongoing food drive until Christmas to donate food baskets for Christmas. Drop food items at Precious Treasures. Some ladies at church have volunteered to put the baskets together and they have lists of so many families in need this year. There are so many more this year than years past. If you woulld like to donate new/unused toys we also have a lot of families in need of presents for their children. Drop them at Precious Treasures and our staff has volunteered to wrap them and the church will distribute them.

JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE ON SNL

I am a huge Justin Timberlake fan, not the face, not the singing but that boy can DANCE! He is so funny every time he is on Saturday Night Live. I heard he was on when we were out of town and just found this on You-Tube. It is so funny. Below also is one of my favorites when he dressed up as soup.

TIP IDEA SAFETY

Velma Dobesh sent me this and it is a great idea if your car has a panic button on the key fob. If it does not someone told me youo can buy the keyfobs on ebay and have them cut for your vehicle.

PUT YOUR CAR KEYS BESIDE YOUR BED AT NIGHT

Tell your spouse, your children, your neighbors, your parents your Dr office, the check-out girl at the market, everyone you run across.Put your car keys beside your bed at night.

If you hear a noise outside your home or someone trying to get in your house, just press the panic button for your car. The alarm will be set off, and! The horn will continue to sound until either you turn it off or the car battery dies.

CAMP CALVIN CREST PICTURES

(If you have photos from the weekend please email them to ptdiva@ptdiva.com to share as my batteries were dead so I just have what I took with my phone)
We ended up having 60 women cropping and we had so much FUN! For some reason our croppers always get a little rowdy. hmmm..... I wonder why? *wink* The Diva's know how to have a good time. Saturday night there was even dancing from the hustle, the Macarena, the Cha Cha slide and even some Kung Fu Fighting going on!

The classes were all excellent. The weather was beautiful, Nancy was a doll, the rooms were great, lots of hot water for showers, the Cricuts were a humming, and lots of laughter. AKA a PERFECT weekend!

Mark your calendars!!!

Our next 3 day crops at Calvin Crest will be

May 22-24 for National Scrapbook Day

September 18-20th for Scrap Pink

A $25.00 non-refundable deposit will hold your spot. We will all be in the main room for these crops. Balance due within 30 days of the crops. We are going to see if we can get Kit to come back and cook. She was the one who did our menu for Scrap Pink and the food was awesome!

Lots of wonderful prizes from Miss Nancy. For all of you that came, take note that Nancy buys those prizes and all the snacks out of her own pocket. She is such a sweetheart! precious Treasures also gave several prizes and 2 gift certificates to the camp for prizes.

This is my mom when she realized the white ball at lunch was rice. I did not even try mine as I seen a photo opportunity playing some rice ball with it. LOL I cannot wait to scrapbook the page about it. I told everyone up front that the food is like school lunches but NEVER as bad as it was Friday and Saturday, i did not even know the ball was rice until someone told me. We found out the normal head cook got called away on an emergency and the servers were trying to cook for us. Saturday night we all either went into town for dinner or ordered pizza as we were all getting so hungry. We went to Nifty 50's for prime rib and I do not know if it was because I had not eaten since Friday afternoon or what but it was sooo..... good!!

Sunday the head cook was back at the camp and the food was much better.

You can nurse now with Coca-Cola

One of the pranks pulled was moving this rooms door signs with their names on it to the storage room door and moving a couch in front of their door. There were a LOT of pranks pulled and needless to say not much sleep. It was like a slumber party of 60 Diva's.

The cigarettes are CANDY! We stopped at Millers Drug store and they had all sorts of old fashioned candy. We were taking about those bubble gum cigarettes that had powder in them that you blow and it looked like smoke, remember those?? Thank goodness people do not smoke like they did when I was a kid.

These are CANDY cigarettes. And YES that is an invisible lighter in Tawnya's hand.. We all got VERY goofy this weekend.

A wonderful part of my weekend was running into Vicki at the indoor flea market when we drove into town Saturday for dinner. The Junktion is one of my favorite stores as you never know what you will find in there and Vicki is one of my favorite people. I am so glad we took a van to the Junktion as Tanya bought the cutest pink chair!

Miss Barb and her pink prize.

Comment left by Barb Kucera about the weekend: Well, I spent the weekend at "Camp".......scrapbooking camp......and boy was it like camp....or so I think.... I never actually went to camp as a child......But I could only imagine what it should have been like......so...of course there had to be a few little pranks.....such as...writing comments on other peoples door signs....as if Santa has been watching. There was also the "couch" getting moved in FRONT of my room door....not once but twice......... The text messages in the middle of the night......the "bugs" in the room.....banging on the walls & .....Mooning through the outside sliding glass door....which would have been better if they had actually seen it happen.........I wish a had taken a bungee cord, so I could have tied their doors together....Oh ....there was also the "Glitter Fairy" that farted.....hee hee hee and lets not forget to mention the "Snowball" fight...."rice"....that was undercooked & stuck together....Oh Man! I just remembered....I forgot about the water balloons! I had them in my car, but forgot to make them.....BTW I didn't really Moon the ladies next door....but they don't really know for sure.....

TIP / IDEA FOR CRICUT STORAGE using our scraponizers

BAD DREAMS

Don't you just hate bad dreams? Last night I dreamed Zacheus got hit by a pick up truck and killed and it seemed so real as I dreamed about planning his whole funeral. In the dream there were things that just happened yesterday and I just I could not quit crying. I woke up from the dream and was crying and then realized it was just a bad dream. I went to Zacheus' room just to make sure he was ok and just sat and held him. Why do we have bad dreams? fears?

KISSING CHICAGO GOOD BYE UNTIL NEXT TIME

Kissing Chicago goodbye until next time.

PALMER HOUSE HILTON HOTEL IN CHICAGO

This is my favorite hotel in Chicago. It is one of the oldest in Chicago. I have taken the girls since they were little as I tell them Cinderella danced in the ballrooms there. You feel just like a princess in this hotel s it is breathtaking. We stayed on the top floor this time which is the 23rd floor in an executive suite which we had our own private elevator which we felt like royalty. Needless to say we had a wonderful time!

This is the view from our hotel room. Thank God there was not a fire!

This is the hotel lobby.

One of the Ballrooms

This is where Liz wants her wedding reception. I think I would have to sell the store to pay for it. LOL

Amy and Liz

I love sitting in the windows and just watch people go by. I love doing that in the Old Market in Omaha also.

Liz....so excited as she found the coat she had been dreaming about. She wanted Hounds tooth with big buttons and pleated back and we had been hunting but she had it stuck in her mind what she wanted. She finally found one at Macy's.

These are just some of the animals at FAO Schwarz, see slide show for more.

American Girl Moved locations, I thought I was loosing my mind trying to find it as I have been there dozens of times and it was not there. I finally started asking people on the street.

Ready, set GO!
